Custom Guitar - Neck and Headstock

Andy already has a trademark headstock style for his custom made Studio 63 Music Works guitars, so I didn't have to think about what shape I wanted.  I did have to determine how the headstock would be finished, and how I wanted a number of  items on the neck to be.

Having smaller hands, I knew I definitely preferred a softer and sleeker neck profile.  A good Telecaster style profile on the neck was about as close as we could find in a "stock" guitar, but that wasn't quite right either.  After lengthy explanations about what I wanted, and lots of suggestions and questions from Andy, I put complete faith in him on determining the best profile.  With that part out of the way, we specified the following additional details:

Scale Length - 25"

Radius - 12"

Nut Width - 43mm (I didn't specify the material, Andy ultimately recommended bone)

Fret Size - Medium Jumbo

Frets - 22

Profile - Ultra sleek custom profile designed by Andy

Here are a few pictures of the neck and headstock during construction:

Trademark Headstock design with dot inlay on top.

Beautiful binding on the neck, and fret markers on fretboard and side

Sleek and classy. Those are rosewood stripes running through the maple headstock.

The neck on this guitar has recieved RAVE reviews from everyone who has seen the guitar. It is extremely comfortable, fast, and smooth.  I'll probably add more about this later, as we have more construction details to discuss!  Up next, I think we'll discuss electronics...
